History

Alimarket is a small family business from Assoro (Enna), founded in 1952 by Carmelo D’Agostino. He opened a grocery store alongside the town’s first bakery to meet the growing consumer demand of the post-war period. Over the years, thanks to high-quality products and a wide range of offerings, the store established a loyal customer base, leading the family to focus their business on retail and wholesale trade.

In the 1970s, the Alimarket company was officially established. The bakery was leased out, and in 1978, an 800 m² warehouse was built outside the town. This became a distribution hub for local bars, restaurants, and shops, partnering with major brands such as Birra Moretti and Coca-Cola. During the 1990s, following the evolution of modern supermarkets, the company renovated and expanded its store, opening the Eurospar of Assoro in 1994. It offered a vast assortment of food and non-food items, along with innovative services like credit card payments, meal vouchers, loyalty programs, and promotional flyers.

This modern format attracted customers from neighboring towns, establishing Alimarket as a landmark for daily shopping and one of the most dynamic businesses in the province. Today, the company, now in its third generation and affiliated with the Despar chain, continues to operate in the retail distribution sector, maintaining a strong tradition of quality and a deep connection with the local area.

Today, the third generation launches "Piaceri Alimentari," a project dedicated to promoting typical local products and regional excellence!
